Dr. Mahrukh Mustansar is amongst the very few Peace Psychologists in the world. She is a board member of APA Division 48, Society for the Study of Peace, Conflict, and Violence: Peace Psychology Division, and APA Division 9, the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues. She is a part of the American Psychological Association and the International Network of Peace Psychologists (INPP). Dr. Mustansar holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in behavioral analysis and applied (clinical) psychology, respectively. Her second Masters of Philosophy and Doctorate of Philosophy focused on Peace Psychology and Mental Health Rehabilitation. Her doctoral dissertation contextualized Peace and Conflict Studies with Psychology, the major area of concentration in peace psychology and mental health rehabilitation from the military and bureaucratic think-tank, National Defense University Islamabad, Pakistan. Her dissertation was titled “The Psychology of Extremism: Understanding the Polarity of Fundamentalism and Modernism”.
